Marcel Franquelin was born in France. He earned Master's degrees in Fine Arts, Art History and Art Education at l'Ecole des Beaux-Arts and the University of Lille, France.. He has been teaching Art and French since 1979 in France and 1989 in the United States. As an artist, he had numerous exhibitions and produced several works on commission for private collectors (Howard Tullman, etc) and corporations such as I.M.O. Industries and Wyeth Pharmaceuticals; also, he executed several reproductions of 19th century masterpieces (Napoleonic period) for french art collectors. Since 1989, Marcel has been represented by a wide range of galleries, including Garth Davidson Gallery, Image Gallery, DeLann Gallery and the Beamesderfer Gallery in New Jersey, the Devin Gallery and the Rosenfeld Gallery in Pennsylvania, the Marin-Price Galleries in Washington D.C. and Maryland, the Ambassador Gallery, the Stricoff Gallery and the Sherry French Gallery in New York City. His work has been published in American Artist Magazine, School Arts Magazine and several local publications in New Jersey, where he paints and teaches in his studio located in Milltown. |
